POSITION TITLE: 4th-5th Grade Reading Interventionist STATUS: Full-Time, 10 month REPORTS TO: Principal EVALUATED BY: Principal POSITION SUMMARY: The 4-5 Reading Interventionist provides supplemental and intensive interventions directly to students with fidelity. The interventionist progress monitors interventions and communicates with classroom teachers, MTSS coaches, administrators, and parents as a member of collaborative problem-solving teams. The interventionist participates in ongoing data reviews at the school. The interventionist must have a valid NC teacher license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ? Growth mindset ? Expertise in 4-5 Reading curriculum standards and instruction ? Experience with intervention progress monitoring processes ? Demonstrated effectiveness as a classroom teacher and teacher leader ? Demonstrated success in the planning and delivery of reading instruction with attention to individual student needs ? Ability to analyze assessment (formative, benchmark, summative) and progress monitoring data to drive instructional planning and delivery ? Strong foundation in pedagogy and teaching methodologies ? Willingness to facilitate professional learning JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Implement supplemental and intensive reading interventions through a direct service model ? Communicate and work with administrators, MTSS Coaches, and Instructional Coaches to ensure alignment of instruction and interventions ? Compile student and grade level data reports for school and district problem-solving meetings ? Participate in school and district level professional development ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Ability to visit school locations as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities 2. Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, students, administrators, and coaches 3. Physical stamina to handle challenging work schedules 4. Respect for students, teachers, parents, and support staff 5. Ability to exercise sound judgment on sensitive issues 6.
